Rudy Giuliani, President Donald Trump's ally and legal advisor, has a penchant for contradicting public statements from Trump and Trump administration members.
Asked by CNN's Dana Bash on Sunday whether there was a larger strategy to undermine the investigation at play, Giuliani said he "couldn't do it if they didn't have the material".
"OK, and if it is, it isn't illegal". "And you're not involved in the illegality of getting it".
