In a speech Saturday, the Ontario premier said she was "pretty sure" the province would soon have a new government.
"With a majority government Doug Ford would have too free a hand for the comfort of most people - they don't trust his judgment", Wynne says in a statement.
"I think it would be a very bad move", says Myer Siemiatycki, a politics professor at Toronto's Ryerson University. And although the results of the election will be known Thursday, the people of Ontario may have to wait a while to know who will form what sort of government.
"When you're being bullied you have to stand up to the bully", she said.

"Ontario wants change", Horwath said Friday.
With the election roughly a week away, Wynne travelled to the heart of her NDP rival's riding on Wednesday to portray herself as the only seasoned stateswoman in the campaign capable of rising above the ideological fray. "They just make no sense and they put so many families at risk".
Wynne said this is to ensure neither the PC nor the NDP receives a majority. This is a man who has defended candidates who speak ill of others - who smear people due to their religion or gender or sexual orientation.
