Melania Trump takes a fearless stand against her husband's policies

Trump deflected mounting criticism over the government's separation of parents and children of illegal immigrants in a tweet Sunday evening, saying lawmakers need to "work something out on Border Security & Safety". "We need to fix our immigration laws, and using children is not the answer".

"As a mother, as a Catholic, as somebody who has got a conscience ..."

"What the administration has chose to do is to separate children from their parents to try to send a message that if you cross the border with children, your children are going to be ripped away from you", Senator Susan Collins told CBS television's Face the Nation.

Since Trump's inauguration, the administration has issued at least half a dozen orders and changes affecting immigrant children, many of them obscure revisions.

The other, described as a compromise between the moderate and conservative factions of the GOP, fully funds the president's desired wall along the U.S. -Mexico border, ends the diversity visa lottery and family-based immigration, and incorporates a pathway to citizenship for "dreamers" whose parents brought them to the United States illegally as children.

The event in the city of Elizabeth came as news stories highlighting the family separations intensified political pressure on the White House, even from some of President Donald Trump's fellow Republicans.

Or hold Melania Trump's statement against the candid acknowledgment to the New York Times by Trump senior policy adviser Stephen Miller that the approach was "a simple decision by the administration to have a zero tolerance policy for illegal entry, period". "I'd like to say it's un-American, but it's happening right now in America". "This is not just on the Trump administration - this is on all of us".

'It's a crime to come across illegally, and children get separated.

"I hate it", he told The Associated Press.

Events will also be held in London's Trafalgar Square and Birmingham's Small Heath Park to mark the start of the new month. This year, in 2018, that day will fall on Thursday, 14 June and ends in the evening of of Friday, 15 June in India.

Driving winds fan Colorado wildfire, 2,000 homes under evacuation
At least six wildfires are burning in the state of Colorado this week, bolstered by hot, dry winds and no rain in the forecast. A satellite image shows the 416 Wildfire burning west of Highway 550 and northwest of Hermosa, Colorado, U.S., June 10, 2018.

While no Republicans have signed up to back the bill, others within the party establishment have spoken out.

Rep. Beto O'Rourke, who is running for Senate in Texas against Republican Sen. Dianne Feinstein (Calif.) to end the family-separation tactics, calling it "too broad".

Trump has said in recent days that Democrats should agree to his panoply of immigration measures, including full financing for a border wall and revamping the system of legal entry to the country, in effect making clear that any legislation addressing family separation must also include his priorities. 'If he can't [acknowledge] that, I'll go tell him 'if you don't like families being supported, you can tell DHS to stop doing it'. The cumulative effect is a dramatic adjustment of immigration policy and practice.

On Friday, Trump listed what he wants to be included in an immigration bill, again blaming Democrats for their "horrible and cruel legislative agenda".

Sessions has repeatedly touted the policy and it's necessity in appearance around the country and in interviews.

In the USA asylum seekers have watched helplessly as their children have been taken away from them under Donald Trump's new zero tolerance immigration policy.

Kelly, Trump's former head of Department of Homeland Security, told NPR last month the policy is one "no one hopes will be used extensively or for very long". "She's an incredible mom, a kind and caring stepmother, and she truly cares deeply about the well-being of all children".

"It is critical that Congress fully understands how our nation's laws are being implemented on the ground, especially when the well-being of young children is at stake", they wrote.

Amid the current crackdown, the detained parents are "in jail settings", the official said, awaiting adjudication and possible prosecution for crossing the border.
