Investigators say 15-year-old Lesandro Guzman-Feliz, who had dreamed of one day becoming an NYPD detective, was stabbed by members of a local gang following an altercation inside a bodega in the Belmont section on June 20.
The NYPD released a statement Sunday evening saying, in part: "The Department has identified multiple suspects and is in the process of interviewing some of them at this time".
Lesandro "Junior" Guzman-Feliz was dragged out of a store on Bathgate Avenue and killed by a group of men with a machete.
According to police, the mortally wounded boy never reached the hospital and collapsed a block away.
Police in Paterson, New Jersey said they received clues on the whereabouts of the suspects in New York-based Dominican gang, Trinitarios, and arrested three in the area as well as two more in The Bronx. The video shows the assailants fleeing the scene in a black sedan.
When authorities went to the house, which is connected to the Trinitarios gang, one suspect managed to escape but was apprehended minutes later, sources say.

His sister, Genesis Collado-Feliz, claims that her brother ran into the bodega because he thought he would be safe in the store.
"Since he was 5 years old, he told me, 'Mommy, I want to be a police, '" Feliz told the New York Post.
