Warner and Smith were handed with 12-month suspensions by Cricket Australia for their involvement in ball-tampering during the third Test in Cape Town during their four-match tour of South Africa, while Bancroft was given a reduced nine-month sentence.
Warner and fellow-offender captain Steven Smith and fledgling batsman Cameron Bancroft were barred from playing worldwide cricket for twelve months, but were allowed to participate in club cricket. It is interesting to note that while the 31-year-old was not barred from plying his trade in the franchise-based tournaments around the world, BCCI went ahead and suspended him, along with Smith, from taking part in the IPL 2018.
Bancroft is still contracted to Western Australia and Perth Scorchers and is set to join them for pre-season training in June.
It looks like David Warner has moved on quickly from the ball-tampering scandal which had very much derailed his cricketing career for the moment.
