Ryan Fournier, chairman of the organization Students For Trump, brought the products to public attention with a tweet Tuesday evening. As noted by Bloomberg, the real sellers are companies such as Old Glory and Teespring Inc., which advertise on Walmart's website and give the retail giant a cut of the profits.
Walmart is catching fire on social media after shoppers caught sight of a T-shirt being sold through its third-party marketplace that says "Impeach 45", referring to President Donald Trump. Walmart didn't immediately respond to CNBC's request for comment.
"These items were sold by third-party sellers on our open marketplace and were not offered directly by Walmart", a company spokesperson told Yahoo Lifestyle.
