Cohen is willing to make that assertion to special counsel Robert Mueller, the sources said."But I think the big thing here is that we keep seeing these bombshell stories that would dramatically change the way that the entire Russian Federation investigation is viewed that end up being wrong".
The decision from CNN to continue to stand by the story suggests that it believes the strength of its other sources outweighs any waffling from Davis - or that the network believes Davis was telling the truth then, and not now. "We were not the source of the story".
Davis told BuzzFeed News Monday night he regretted being the anonymous source as well as his subsequent denial. While CNN's story may still be technically true, those aren't the rules of the game anymore: rumors mustn't be reported, even if the reporting of the rumors is accurate. According to BuzzFeed News, Davis was the confirming source for all of that.
All of which should call into serious question Davis' credibility.
Trump’s "new NAFTA" deal with Canada could be relief for developers
He labeled NAFTA "seriously out of whack" in a way that "led to large trade deficits" and said it needed updating. Under it, to sign something before December 1, when Mexico's president-elect is due to take office, U.S.

Wolves are hopeful that Matt Doherty will be fit for City test
That is why we conceded a few chances to them but in general the game, considering the quality of the opponent, was good. Wolves have virtually a fully-fit squad to choose from with only Ivan Cavaleiro absent with a back problem.
That statement is a lie, a proven lie, a bald-faced lie, because we now know for a fact that Lanny Davis did NOT decline to comment.
And so we're back to the question I asked yesterday, which recurs in virtually all news commentary these days: What the hell is going on?
In the past week, the Office of the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York (SDNY) has accepted a guilty plea from President Donald Trump's former longtime personal attorney, Michael Cohen, and offered an immunity deal to Allen Weisselberg, chief financial officer of The Trump Organization. I can't figure out why Davis would go so far as to damage his already shaky credibility, though, by running around to outlets like WaPo and admitting that he'd passed along possibly bad information previously. "The answer is that I did NOT know about the meeting". If so then Cohen's in a bind about what he can tell Mueller.
These admissions follows another from Davis regarding a claim that Trump knew beforehand about the hacking of Democratic emails by the Russians.
