Last night Biti urged the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) to release the election results, claiming the delay was evidence Zanu-PF was trying to rig the poll.
Tendai Biti, a candidate for opposition party Movement for Democratic Change (MDC), has accused the ruling Zanu-PF regime of plotting to assassinate himself and Chamisa.
The news was delivered by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (or ZEC) as they announced the results in dribs and drabs for the lower house of parliament.
Millions of people voted peacefully on Monday in the first election since the army removed Robert Mugabe from power a year ago.
Soldiers were on guard outside the headquarters of the ruling ZANU-PF party, while armored personnel carriers, water cannon trucks and police anti-riot vans drove through Harare sporadically pausing outside the MDC headquarters.
At least three people died in the chaos as the military was dispersed to the area.

The violence appeared to dash the hopes of Zimbabweans that the peaceful vote would lift them out of decades of economic and political stagnation under Mr Mugabe. "We are ready to form the next (government)", he says.
Election observers from the Commonwealth issued a statement Thursday to "denounce the excessive use of force against unarmed civilians" while former colonial power Britain appealed for Zimbabwe to remove the army from the streets.
"If they've got the smoking gun, then they must hold the gun and quickly put forward concrete evidence to support their claims that the election has been rigged", Tendi said.
The MDC also questioned the pace of releasing results from the presidential vote.
"Let me also warn such individuals and groups that no one is above the law", Home Affairs Minister Obert Mpofu said.
European Union observers had earlier declared they found an "un-level playing field and lack of trust" in the election process.
Mnangagwa had promised a free and fair vote after the military ushered him to power with a credible vote meant to end Zimbabwe's worldwide isolation and attract foreign investment to revive the shattered economy.
The military deployment was the first time that soldiers had appeared in the streets of the capital since Mugabe's departure in November.
The army crackdown has broken the euphoria that followed its removal of Mugabe, and fueled suspicions that the generals who launched the coup remain Zimbabwe's de facto rulers. At one point, the relatives blocked hospital staff from wheeling the body to the mortuary and demanded a police explanation; a plainclothes officer said they could return Thursday to pick up the body after a police investigation.
