Denver Broncos backup quarterback Chad Kelly was arrested overnight on Tuesday for first-degree trespassing in a freaky series of events that transpired after Von Miller's Western-themed Halloween party.
According to KUSA, Kelly was not tested for drugs or alcohol on the scene, "The entry on booking records suggesting he had no alcohol in his system is a default entry". It's not clear if he has an attorney to comment on the case.
Kelly allegedly entered a home uninvited and sat down on a couch while mumbling incoherently, the Englewood Police Department said. The woman called for a male homeowner, who confronted the intruder and hit him with what was later identified as an aluminum vacuum tube in the upper back and kicked him out of the home. Kelly was found sitting outside the Theater by his SUV when police arrived, responding to the call about him entering the residence. He posted a $2,500 bond and was released.
"We are disappointed that Chad Kelly was arrested early this morning", the Broncos said in a statement to FOX31. Rapoport says Elway is "extremely angry" and all options, including releasing the second-year quarterback, are still on the table.
He was drafted into the National Football League in 2017.

We made bingo cards for tonight's Georgia gubernatorial debate
Abrams' criticism of the free market echoes her previous claim about not needing "Conservative values to win in Georgia'". A RealClearPolitics average of polls shows Abrams trailing her Republican opponent by two percentage points.
The Broncos drafted Kelly with the last pick of the 2017 draft, but he missed his entire rookie season due to injury. After all, Kelly, nephew of Hall of Fame Bills quarterback Jim Kelly, does have quarterback genes. He has eight touchdown passes and nine interceptions after throwing for 22 TDs with just seven interceptions last season in Minnesota, where he led the Vikings to the NFC championship.
If Kelly is released, former Stanford quarterback Kevin Hogan becomes the only other quarterback on the Denver roster, after Keenum. He later pled guilty to disorderly conduct.
Kelly aka Swag played for Clemson in 2013 and was 10-for-17 for 58 yards, but was dismissed following 2014 spring practice.
At the time, he said being upfront about his missteps was important: "You've got to be honest, of course, but you've got to admit to what you did and you've got to try to convince them that you've learned from those mistakes and that you're not going to make them again".
