The FBI says it's expanded its search nationwide for a 13-year-old Wisconsin girl missing since her parents were found shot to death in their home Monday morning.
Chris Fitzgerald, the sheriff of Barron County, said police suspected that Jayme was at home when her parents were killed.
Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald said at a press conference on October 17 that evidence from the house and a 911 call indicated that the teenager was at home when her parents were killed at their home in Barron, about 80 miles northeast of Minneapolis, early in the morning on October 15.
"I'll be honest. I'm struggling with this because I don't have some of those answers that I want to give you", Fitzgerald told reporters.
As Wisconsin authorities desperately search for missing 13-year-old Jayme Closs, they are now asking for volunteers to help look for more evidence.

On Oct. 15, at 12:53 a.m., dispatchers received a 911 call from a home in Barron.
Fitzgerald said they don't know if it was a random or targeted attack. An AMBER Alert for her was issued on Monday afternoon. He said both were shot to death.

Ed Downing Sr., who is married to the sister of one of Jayme's grandmothers, spoke to NBC News and said the family was in "disbelief" over the deaths and the teen's disappearance.
Authorities did not release additional details about what the search would involve.
Authorities identified Jayme's parents as James Closs, 56, and Denise Closs, 46.
She's described as standing 5-feet tall, weighing 100 pounds, with green eyes and blonde hair. "We believe she's in danger", he added.
Anyone with information regarding Closs' whereabouts or who may have had contact with her is asked to contact the Wisconsin Department of Justice Child Abduction Response Team tipline at 1-855-744-3879. They've spoken with friends and classmates to see if they know anything.
Groups focused on ditches along Highway 8 and on the area west of the Closs family home.
