China supports Pakistan's efforts to improve ties with India and settling their disputes through dialogue and negotiation, Beijing said Sunday in the joint statement released during the ongoing visit of Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The CPEC involves a host of projects connects China's Xinjiang province with Pakistan's Gwadar port in Balochistan province. "If there were to be any change, it would be an increase going forward", he said. "The economic corridor project will certainly boost the local economy of Pakistan as it will create new jobs and inject cash into local communities", Cheng said.
"CPEC will be introduced to more areas of Pakistan and will also tilt in favour of areas relating to people's lives".
One of his key election pledges was to reduce poverty for Pakistan's 197 million residents.
