The US, Britain and France are leading the calls to halt hostilities in Yemen, where the US has for years provided military support to and shared intelligence with Saudi Arabia (which, in turn, has landed on a United Nations blacklist for the maiming and killing of children in air raids).
After 12 days of clashes, Hodeida was "quiet" and its port was "operating", Gargash tweeted.
He added that "neither the government nor humanitarian organizations provide help for citizens willing to flee the flashpoint areas in Hodeidah".
Yemen's president has backed UN-proposed talks to end fighting in his war-torn country but vowed to "liberate" the battleground rebel-held port city of Hodeida regardless of the peace process.
A military official in Hodeida on Monday confirmed seven civilians had died, without giving further details.
The Houthi fighters claimed to have repulsed a massive military offensive by government forces, killing and injuring scores of "local mercenaries", according to the pro-Houthi media.
