The DGCA official said changes to the flight manual have to be done within three days after getting the airworthiness directive from the United States watchdog; the manual contains procedures to be followed by the flight crew.
Indonesian investigators said Wednesday the plane had experienced instrument failures on 4 flights, including on one journey where both the AOA sensor and the airspeed indicator were affected. FAA directives are usually followed by other airline regulators internationally.
The sensor had malfunctioned on four previous flights of the Lion Air aircraft and was replaced the day before the October 29 crash, according to Indonesian aviation officials. The plane went into a sudden dive minutes after takeoff, from which the pilots were able to recover.
A problem would occur if the AOA sensor input is erroneous.
Indonesia's National Transportation Safety Committee said it had agreed with Boeing on procedures that the airplane manufacturer should distribute globally on how flight crews can deal with "angle of attack" sensor problems.
The plane maker said local aviation officials believed pilots might have been given wrong information by the plane's automated systems before the fatal crash.
Pilots are trained to disengage the angle-of-attack sensors from the plane's computers when they get false readings.
Fears for Russian Federation probe as Trump fires Jeff Sessions
The Justice Department on Wednesday indicated that Whitaker would indeed supervise the Mueller investigation. Mr Trump has at various times belittled Mr Sessions as "beleaguered", "VERY weak", and "DISGRACEFUL".

Florida yoga studio shooting leaves 2 dead, including shooter, 4 wounded
A gunman killed two people and wounded five others at a yoga studio in Florida's capital before killing himself, officials said. He was charged by police with battery in 2016 after he slapped and grabbed a woman's buttocks at an apartment complex pool.
"They should have been completely engaged in what was going on inside that cockpit, and any kind of warning that came up, they would have been wise to pay attention to it", Curtis said. FDR data resulted in investigators determining that if an erroneously high single AOA sensor input is received from the aircraft's flight control system, there is a potential for the 737 to repeatedly perform nose-down trim commands of its horizontal stabilizer.
The DGCA official said if the condition is not addressed, it could cause the flight crew to have difficulty in controlling the airplane.
On November 6, Boeing said it had issued an Operations Manual Bulletin (OMB) directing operators to existing flight crew procedures to address circumstances where there is erroneous input from an AOA sensor.
The flight procedure recommendations to Boeing were based on how the flight crew responded to problems on the Bali-to-Jakarta flight, said investigator Nurcahyo Utomo.
In a related development, Indonesia said it will extend by three days its search for the bodies of passengers from the ill-fated plane, an official said, as the authorities struggle to identify victims of the crash. The data from the flight recorder and Boeing's statement have provided the first clues, but rescuers are still searching for the device that records voices in the plane's cockpit.
The Lion Air crash is the worst airline disaster in Indonesia since 1997, when 234 people died on a Garuda flight near Medan. All 189 people on board the flight were killed.
