The conflict stemmed from Monday night's game when Green turned the ball over in the final seconds of regulation of an overtime loss to the Los Angeles Clippers instead of giving the ball to Durant, the team's designated closer with Stephen Curry sidelined.
Green elected not to defer to Durant and pass him the ball before ultimately turning it over in the 4th quarter of Monday's game.
The two were seen arguing with each other in the huddle prior to the start of the overtime period and it escalated to "one of the most volatile episodes" of the Warriors' current run, according to ESPN. While many on the team took umbrage about how and when Green went after Durant, teammates backed the general sentiment.

"But the front office has to have a longer view and probably a little bit of that was to let him know "we've got your back KD". The words do look a lot like "that's why I'm out", but we'll leave that for you to decide.
Durant led the Warriors with 29 points.
Kerr also tried to rule out the narrative that Durant's upcoming 2019 free agency was behind the altercation.
Some believed prior to this season that it could have been the last season for Durant with the Warriors and with this recent spat with Green, that notion seems to be gaining significant traction.
