The family of a Miami woman, who went missing in Costa Rica, is going to the morgue to view a body found near her last known location.
Espinoza said all data gathered indicates the body is Stefaniak's; however, investigators are waiting to compare fingerprints from the body with Federal Bureau of Investigation records and noted dental and DNA records may be used to definitively identify the body as Stefaniak if fingerprints are not conclusive.
Fluids were also discovered inside her room that are consistent with blood, but authorities are not yet sure if the body belongs to Stefaniak.
Stefaniak has been missing for more than a week after travelling to Costa Rica with her sister-in-law April Antonieta.
A body found near a Costa Rica Airbnb has reportedly been identified as the remains of a U.S. tourist who went missing last week. Espinoza told Spanish-speaking media that Martinez, of Nicaragua, was arrested at about 11 p.m. Monday after authorities raided his apartment, which was adjacent to the room Stefaniak and Burton rented through AirBnB.
After Stefaniak was reported missing, agents began to investigate where she was last seen. They received texts from her the night before around 8 p.m., but then all communication stopped. She didn't show up for her 1 p.m. flight home on November 28.
In an interview, family friend Greg Zwolinsky talked about the main concerns and questions that the family had about Stefaniak's disappearance.
"I have hope that the body found is not my daughter's", he told reporters before his worst fear was confirmed. Late Tuesday, in an emotional Facebook post, her family said that Stefaniak's father had confirmed the body found was his daughter's.

Witnesses supposedly saw Stefaniak leaving the Airbnb around 5 a.m. with her luggage and getting into an unknown vehicle, according to the Miami Herald. On November 27, Burton flew back home, and that same night, Stefaniak went missing.
Espinoza said the images in the video did not align with statements made by the building's security guard, a 32-year-old Nicaraguan who police detained for further questioning.
"All the data we've compiled points to this being her; however, we want a determination that is more precise, more technical and more scientific", said Espinoza.
The body was found buried in plastic bags behind the San Jose Airbnb where Stefaniak was vacationing, a rental that the Miami resident had her qualms about.
Walter Espinoza, director of Costa Rica's Judicial Investigation Department, held a news conference on Tuesday.
She wrote that it was raining there and the lights were flickering on and off. Greg Zwolinski, a friend of the family, who was in Costa Rica trying to communicate with the authorities, said the family's requests had been rejected twice.
The State Department is working on the case and are awaiting the results of an autopsy.
"Six o'clock, still haven't heard from her", Burton said.
