Manafort served three months as Trump's campaign chairman, from June to August 2016, before he was forced to resign amid scrutiny of his previous work in Ukraine.
Prosecutors said Manafort, 69, hid income earned from political work overseas from the IRS while fraudulently obtaining millions in bank loans.
He also said: "I know it is my conduct that brought me here".
"The defendant blames everyone from the special counsel's office to his Ukrainian clients for his own criminal choices", prosecutors wrote in a final court filing this week to Judge T.S. Ellis in Alexandria, Virginia. Mueller's prosecutors have so far not taken a position on what Manafort's sentence should be, although they are expected to weigh in during the Washington hearing on whether the sentences should be concurrent or consecutive.
Two months later, the special counsel's office accused Manafort of violating this plea deal by "lying to the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Special Counsel's Office on a variety of subject matters". "I concluded that it was legitimate" for the special counsel to charge Manafort with financial crimes, Ellis said.
Manafort was originally to be tried in two different cases, one in Virginia and one in the District.
A jury previous year convicted Manafort on eight counts, concluding that he hid from the Internal Revenue Service millions of dollars he earned from his work in Ukraine. A mistrial was declared on 10 other counts that the jury could not reach a consensus on. Prosecutors later dropped those counts.
At a February 13 hearing in Washington, Manafort attorney Kevin Downing said it was important that the allegation of Kilimnik's "known ties to Russian intelligence be countered, and be countered in a balanced manner".

He has not yet been sentenced in that case, and Mueller's team recently asked a federal judge to sentence him to 24 years in prison and order him to pay as much as a $24 million fine. Prosecutors have looked to that second sentencing as a backstop to keep Manafort in prison, in case the judge in Virginia is extremely lenient.
Manafort faces another sentencing next week in a Washington D.C. courtroom, where he could be handed a prison term of up to 10 years.
The judge's finding could add years to Manafort's prison sentence.

He has used his presentencing court filings to ask Ellis for leniency and to argue that he is sorry, with the hope that his sentence will be light and he can live abiding by the law if he is released. Ellis said that the 19-24.5 years proposed was "excessive" and went with 47 months instead.
