- A five-year-old boy was critically injured after a man threw him from the third floor of the Mall of America Friday morning, according to the Bloomington Police Department.
In a seemingly random attack, the five-year-old boy had been grabbed and then dropped over the balcony at the Mall of America in Minnesota in the United States on Friday. "We started this GoFundMe for their family to help cover the vast medical costs and rehabilitation costs for the long ahead".
In an update Sunday, Bloomington Police Chief Jeff Potts says he has never seen anything like this at the mall, it is an isolated incident and that the boy is alive and being cared for.
Landen is being treated Children's Hospital Minneapolis. Police are not releasing his name. She said she asked him if they were in his way and should move, and he picked up the child without warning and threw him off the balcony, according to the complaint.
24-year-old Emmanuel Deshawn Aranda has been charged with attempted murder after being chased down by police following the disturbing incident.
Potts said prosecutors would finalize charges by Monday at noon.
"Someone threw him over the edge".

The story of what happened in the Mall of America on Friday is horrifying.
For these past charges, Aranda was banned from the mall through July 2016.
The suspect, 24-year-old Emmanuel Deshawn Aranda, initially fled on foot, authorities said. The woman laughed off the request, records show, and sat down inside.
Aranda has been involved in incidents before at the Mall of America, one resulting in an arrest, Potts said.
Aranda also was accused of walking into a mall store and sweeping his hand across a display table, breaking glasses. According to the mall's website, it is visited by 40 million people from around the world each year.
