To aid your friends on PSN, your old ID may be displayed next to your new ID on your profile for 30 days.
Here's how it works: all PSN users will get the first ID change for free, but every subsequent change will cost you €4.99 (with PS+) or €9.99 (without PS+).
If you do encounter these issues, you can simply revert back to your previous Online ID, which PlayStation say should solve most problems. Child accounts, however, can't change their online IDs at all.

Q: Will all PS4 games released in the future support the feature?
It's the PlayStation feature that, aside from cross-platform play, people have mostly been asking for. Games like Spider-Man and God of War will be available for Rs 2,499 and Rs 1,999 respectively, and these offers are set to go live by April 11 or April 12 on Amazon India, Flipkart and offline as well. However, it will not be supported directly on older devices such as the PS3 or PS Vita. At the time, it was revealed that the first name change would be free. Sony recommends not changing your name if you plan to keep playing these games. And let's face it - if you've been stuck with an embarrassing ID for years, you'll probably be willing to make a few compromises to choose something more appropriate.
